Scuff Sheet Players Grade

A players-grade clear anti-scuff sheet — the single cheapest thing you can do to extend the life of an English willow bat.

What it does

The sheet bonds to the face of the bat and holds the willow fibres together. It will not stop a bat breaking, but it dramatically reduces surface cracking, stops small cracks spreading, and protects against the scuffing and moisture that age a face fastest. On a new bat it is fitted after knocking-in; on an older bat it can hold a lightly cracked face together for another season or two.

Players grade

Thicker and more durable than standard sheets, with better adhesion and clearer finish, so the grain of the bat still shows through.

Fitting

The face must be clean, dry and free of oil before application — most fitting failures come from applying over a freshly oiled face. Work from the middle outward to avoid trapping air.
