Every new English willow bat needs proper knocking-in before its first use. Skip this step and you risk cracking or splintering the willow the first time it meets a hard ball. Our in-house team handles the full process for you, using the same technique recommended by every major manufacturer.

What's included

• Oiling: Linseed oil applied in thin coats to condition the willow and reduce moisture loss.
• Machine pressing: Initial compression of the face and edges to begin hardening the fibers.
• Hand knocking: 4-6 hours of careful mallet work across the face, edges, and toe — roughly 15,000-20,000 knocks — building up impact resistance gradually.
• Edge rounding: Edges are shaped and smoothed to reduce the risk of edge cracking during play.

Purchase this service, then ship your new bat to our Houston, TX location (address provided at checkout). We recommend insuring your shipment — no signature is required on delivery. Once knocking-in is complete, we'll ship your bat back to you.
