Who this bat suits

The combination that defines this bat is very thick edges with a very light pick-up — normally you trade one for the other, and the counter-balanced handle is what lets you have both. With the spine set from the middle down toward the lower blade, mass sits where the ball meets the bat on drives and hitting through the line.

Built specifically for T20 and shorter formats, where clearing the rope matters more than occupying the crease. If you bat in the middle order and your job is to score quickly, this is the shape for it.

Understanding Grade 3

Grade 3 willow shows fewer straight grains and more natural colour variation than Grade 1 or 2. That is appearance, not performance — it is genuine English willow, and the saving over a top-grade bat is substantial.

Knocking-in

This bat needs knocking-in before it faces a hard ball. New English willow is soft and its fibres must be compressed gradually — typically six to eight hours across several sessions. Skipping it is the most common reason a bat cracks in its first season, and it is not covered by warranty.
