A full players profile with maximum spine and edges means a lot of willow behind the ball — this is a big bat built for players who hit hard and score in boundaries. Pro Players grade willow is selected on performance rather than appearance, which is the standard professionals are supplied to, and availability is limited by what the willow allows.

Knocking-in

This bat needs knocking-in before it faces a hard ball. New English willow is soft, and the fibres must be compressed gradually — typically six to eight hours across several sessions. Skipping it is the most common reason a bat cracks in its first season, and it is not covered by warranty. On players-grade willow, which is softer and more responsive, it matters most.
